All-State selection his senior and junior years

Jake Young ’17 (Plymouth, Ind.) will be representing Culver one last time when he suits up for the North squad in the annual Indiana North/South All-Star Football Game Friday night. The game, sponsored by the Indiana Football Coaches Association, will be played at North Central High School, 1801 E. 86th St., Indianapolis. Start time is 7 p.m.

A three-year starter for the Eagles, Young was named to the Associated Press and Indiana Football Coaches Association’s All-State teams as a senior and junior. He also received the Eagles’ Most Valuable Player honors each year while playing on both sides of the ball as a tailback and inside linebacker. The Eagles won their second sectional title in history during his junior season. He was the Eagles’ defensive MVP as a sophomore.

As three-sport athlete, he earned letters in football, basketball, and baseball. He helped the Eagles win their second basketball sectional crown this past winter.

Graduating with a 3.55 GPA, Young will attend Indiana University on an ROTC scholarship.
