Movies, comic books, cartoons

The costume theme for this year’s Beason Halloween seem to be “What Was Old Is New Again,” as seniors and first classmen turned to old cartoons, comic books, movies, and television shows to find their inspiration on Saturday night. Movie characters included Anchorman, A League of Their Own, Grease, Rocky, Top Gun, Batman, Power Rangers, Scooby-Doo, and animated films Up and The Incredibles. Cartoons represented included Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, Bugs Bunny, and CatDog. TV shows included The Walking Dead and Reno 911. The Life Alert commercial and, yes, even Tom Brown of Culver were also represented. For a sample of the costumes, go to Images of Culver. Here is a list of the judges’ top picks.
