Kurt Elling NB’85 will bring his quintet to the Eppley Auditorium stage for a special Parents Weekend Huffington Concert Series performance on Thursday, Sept. 24. Elling Swings Sinatra will officially kick off the weekend at 8 p.m.
Elling is a Culver Summer Schools & Camps alumnus of the Naval Band.

A baritone jazz singer, Elling has had all of his albums nominated for Grammys. Dedicated to You: Kurt Elling Sings the Music of Coltrane and Hartman won the award in 2009. The Jazz Journalists Association has named him the Male Singer of the Year eight times over the past decade and Downbeat magazine’s critics poll has recognized him as the Male Vocalist of the Year 14 times.
With Elling Swings Sinatra, he lends his own voice to Sinatra’s vast repertoire with reinterpretations of classic hits such as Come Fly with Me, In the Still of the Night and April in Paris.
