While at Culver, Shaw graduated from Woodcraft Camp, then completed two years at Culver Military. He transferred to the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Mich., graduating in 2004. Moving to Manhattan at age 17, Shaw was the youngest student ever selected to attend Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Shaw performed in the off-Broadway productions of Children of Eden, Big River, and The Sound of Music, then toured with the 25th anniversary tour of Les Miserables, prior to it’s opening on Broadway in 2014.
