Sings before Yankees-Red Sox game
August 2, 2016

Alan Shaw ’04, who is currently on Broadway in Les Miserables, had the privilege of singing the National Anthem prior to the start of a New York Yankees home game against the Boston Red Sox in mid-July.

Shaw returned to Culver Academies in February to work with students as a visiting artist and perform a one-man show. A 2000 Woodcraft Camp graduate, Shaw completed two years at Culver before transferring to the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Mich. Moving to Manhattan at age 17, he was the youngest student ever selected to attend the Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Shaw performed in the off-Broadway productions of Children of Eden, Big River, and The Sound of Music, then toured with the 25th anniversary tour of Les Miserables, prior to it’s opening on Broadway in 2014.
