Sixteen students and four instructors from the Shanghai Foreign Language School spent the week visiting Culver Academies and the surrounding area. The visit is part of the exchange program which also saw Culver students visit SFLS as part of the Global Pathways Spring trip last spring.
The students arrived Thursday, Oct. 3, and spent the weekend touring the campus and town. The time included taking in the Banks Blackwell Invitational sailing regatta and watching the garrison parade on Sunday.
Monday included a trip to the Indiana Dunes National Park with the Honors in Sustainability students. Tuesday was a trip to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis. Wednesday was spent shadowing Culver students, attending classes, meeting with Head of Schools Doug Bird, and watching CMA beat Fort Wayne Concordia, 4-2, in the second round of the soccer sectional.
Thursday’s schedule included a tour of the University of Notre Dame and a goodbye dinner. The SFLS group is scheduled to fly to New York for the remainder of their time in the United States.
