The following students were honored as the September 2015 Athletes of the Month:
CGA: Hannah Fisher
As the goalie for the CGA varsity soccer team, Hannah Fisher ’17 (Mishawaka, Ind.) helped guide the team to a 7-1-2 record. Fisher’s 0.85 goals-against average includes three clean sheets. This is one of the leading averages in the area.
Coach Eric Schmidt: “The goalkeeper is an unheralded member of the team. Fish, as her teammates call her, has been a significant contributor to the program’s culture. She is one of the hardest workers on the team, putting her best effort into saving every shot that comes her way. She also consistently brings a positive attitude and a fierce competitiveness to every game and practice. Fish is a fantastic example of an athlete who is dedicated to her teammates.”
CMA: Adrian Juraidini
Adrian Juraidini ’17 (Naucalpan, Mexico) scored 11 goals and added four assists in a nine-game stretch. This effort has enabled the CMA varsity soccer team to stand at 9-2 for the season.
Coach Kevin Green, “Adrian is a workhorse for us as the single striker. His work ethic and nose for the goal helped jump start the season, and he scored and assisted in each of the first eight games, to include five multiple point games. A crucial component of our attack, he works as hard to set up teammates as he does to create his own opportunities.”
