Culver Military’s Mitchell Kokko ’15 (Madison, Miss.) has been invited to participate in a prestigious collegiate business program in San Francisco over the summer.
Kokko, who is a student in The Ron Rubin School for the Entrepreneur, has been invited to the Leadership in the Business World (LBW) summer program, sponsored by The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. The program received over 700 applications for its two locations. Only 70 students are selected for each site.
LBW is an intensive four-week program designed for a select group of rising high school seniors. It serves as an introduction to a top-notch undergraduate business education and offers the opportunity for students to hone their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
LBW is offered at two locations. One is conducted on the Penn campus at The Wharton School in Philadelphia. The one that Kokko is attending will be held at The Wharton School’s site in San Francisco.
Kokko said he selected the San Francisco location because of the programs involving executives from the technology industry. Students will be attending classes on entrepreneurship, listening to guest speakers from area businesses, working on group projects, and touring Silicon Valley giants like Google and TESLA Motors.
The San Francisco group will also spend a week at the University of Pennsylvania, using it as a base to travel to New York and Washington, D.C., Kokko said.
