Two more Culver student-athletes made their college commitments known during a short signing session on Thursday.
Cross country and track and field athletes Shane Pursch (Tippecanoe, Indiana) and Callaway Bird (Sturgis, Michigan) will continue their careers at Hobart College, Geneva, New York, and DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, respectively. Both are NCAA Division III schools.
The two runners are coming off a track season that saw them compete at the state championship meet in Bloomington Saturday evening. Bird finished ninth in the 800 meter with a time of 1:56.275. Pursch finished 11th in the 1600 meter with 4:17.369.
Pursch and Bird closed the total number of commitments by the Class of 2018 at 38 student-athletes.
