Take a break from doing your taxes by participating in the seventh annual Max Move. The event, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, encourages everyone who participates to move around Culver’s Lake Maxinkuckee at their own pace. People may run, walk fast, or stroll around the lake.
Max Move supports the Culver Boys & Girls Club through the Culver Connecting Points program. Connecting Points brings the Culver Academies faculty, staff, and students together with the faculty, staff, and students at Culver Community High School, members of the Culver community, parents and alumni together to help a good cause. Sponsorships and T-shirt sales at registration raise the money, event director Dana Neer said. Direct contributions are also gladly accepted.
The walk starts and finishes at the Naval Building on the Culver Academies campus. There is no charge but donations will be accepted on behalf of the club. People are asked to register in advance by emailing Neer. People can also register that morning but are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to sign up. Max Move covers roughly 10 miles.
For those unable to complete the course, a chase vehicle will be available to take them back to the Logansport Gate. There will also be three support and gear stops along the route. Parking is available at the hockey rink or around The Oval near the flagpoles.
