Anthony McHugh won by a 9-2 decision at the Indiana/Illinois All-Star Classic Duals.

Culver Military Academy wrestler Anthony McHugh ’13 (Lewis Center, Ohio) was selected to represent Indiana in the 20th annual Indiana/Illinois All-Star Classic Duals on March 17. Wrestling at 138 pounds, McHugh beat Matt Sears, of Chicago Marist, 9-2. Indiana won the match, 28-23.

The second match involving the all-stars saw Illinois take the team title, 37-16. Both matches were conducted at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. Each state selects its top two senior wrestlers in each weight class to compete in the duals.

The win caps off McHugh’s career, which includes an overall record of 179-23, four-time state finals qualifier (one Ohio and three Indiana), and National High School Coaches Association All-American. He finished fifth at the Indiana state tournament in February. He will be wrestling at the United States Air Force Academy next season.
