A movie that was shot in Culver and used sections of the Culver Academies campus is now being shown in Europe and may find a home on U.S. television in the near future.

Little Savages filmed in Culver during August 2013 and made its debut in Culver over the 2014 Labor Day weekend as part of the Maxinkuckee Film Festival.

Producer James Simmons of Bearfruit Films said Archstone Entertainment has signed on as distributor of the movie and began licensing the film in Berlin earlier this year. Millennium Entertainment (recently acquired by Alchemy) is representing the domestic rights.

Simmons said in an email to The Culver Citizen that “Details are still being worked out but this could come in the form of a TV original premiere that airs on ABC Family or Disney XD. It could manifest into a limited theatrical release.”

While the domestic release details are still being worked out, Simmons said he was “very pleased” with Archstone as a distributor and “we are in a great position with Little Savages.” There is a new international trailer available online.

Several actors in the film are familiar faces on the Disney Channel. Among the actors who came to Culver were Leigh-Allyn Baker, Jamie Kennedy, Noah Lomax, Kenton Duty, Katherine McNamara, Adam Hicks, Aedin Mincks, Aubrey Miller, and Buddy Handleson. Local people were used as extras.
