Culver Girls Academy softball player Emily Lipsett ’18 (LaPorte, Ind.) was named the MaxPreps/National Fastpitch Coaches Association High School Player of the Week for the Northern Region after starting the season with a perfect 16-for-16 in the first four games of the season. This is the second time she has received the honor. She was named player of the week during her freshman season.

The sophomore was a perfect 16-for-16 and reached base safely in all 18 plate appearances. She registered four hits in each contest, scored 11 runs, knocked in five, doubled four times and added a triple and home run.

Lipsett scored a week-high four runs against Culver Community and also crossed the plate three times versus South Bend Washington and South Bend Career Academy. She capped off her sensational week with two doubles, a homer and four RBI in a 16-0 defeat of South Bend Career Academy.

Lipsett’s streak came to end on Tuesday against Tippecanoe Valley when she went 3-for-4 in CGA’s 12-2 five-inning victory.
