Two Culver Prep lacrosse players will be on national television when they suit up for the North squad in the Under Armour All-America Classic Saturday.
A third player will also see action in an underclass tournament tied to the weekend. All the games are being played in Baltimore. The All-America Classic will be played on Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University.
Face-off specialist Alec Stathakis ’19 and middie Sammy English ’19 will be playing Saturday night. The game will be shown on ESPNU at 8 p.m. (EDT).
Stathakis will be joining Alex Simmons ’18 and Ethan Walker ’16 at the University of Denver. English is heading to Princeton University, where he will join Jake Stevens ’18 and Luc Anderson ’18.
Rising first-classman Jack Kelly (Zionsville, Indiana) will play midfield for the Midwest all-star team in the underclass tournament, which began Thursday.
This is the 14th annual classic. Stathakis and English will be joining Alex Simmons ’18 (Denver), Matt Schmidt ’17 (Notre Dame), Jackson Reid ’17 (Ohio State), Ethan Walker ’16 (Denver), Matt Neufeldt ’14 (Maryland/Denver), Joel Tinney ’14 (Johns Hopkins), and Zach Currier ’13 (Princeton) as Culver alumni who have played in the game.
