Culver Girls Academy senior Rowan Farrell (Berea, Ky.) has earned recognition for performance in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. The program is an academic competition established in 1964 to recognize outstanding Black American high school students.
Students enter the National Achievement Program when they take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/national Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Farrell was also recognized as one of 10 Culver Academies students honored by the National Merit Competition.
Others named as Commended Students were CGA seniors Zixuan Gao (Bloomington, Ind.), Jennah Janney (Valparaiso, Ind.), Anna Kendrick (Lowell, Mass.), and Maureen Reed (Lafayette, Ind.). Culver Military first-classmen honored were Austin Kilduff (Canton, Ohio), Matthew Moody (Spring, Texas), Alec Raich (Valparaiso, Ind.), Alan Simonini (Cornelius, N.C.), John Van Duyn (Wheaton, Ill.), and Robert Thomas (Tampa, Fla.).
Culver Academies Academic Dean Kevin MacNeil said the 10 commended students is the most Culver Academies has had in several years.
