The Culver Academies speech team took its third consecutive sectional championship at Lafayette McCutcheon High School on Saturday, March 7.

Out of the Culver 39 entries, 35 qualified for Indiana High School Forensic Association’s state competition and 30 will compete at Fishers High School on Saturday, March 28. Holding off sectional runner-up Indianapolis Ben Davis by 52 points, Culver had eight sectional champions and six sectional runners-up among the state qualifiers.

Jeff Love ’84, Marc Malone ’84, and the Culver Club of Greater Lafayette hosted the team at Dawson’s School House of Chili Friday night before the sectional meet. Also, several alumni served as neutral judges at sectional. Each school is required to provide judges for each competition.
