The Culver Academies Horsemanship Department hosted the United States Polo Association Certification Field Test team recently and three members of the Culver staff were certified during the weekend.

Culver’s Ed Little, Savannah Kranich, and Frank Stubblefield were certified following the three-day program. Joining them were Tony Condo of Cornell’s high school program and Hersham Elezaby, the owner of the Tinicum Polo Club.

Prior to the actual on-site program at Culver, the instructor candidates had online course work to complete. The on-site work consisted of each instructor leading four polo lessons and coaching a mock chukker. The USPA certification team included event program director Jess Downey and national certifiers Robin Sanchez of Texas and Cindy Halle of the Garrison Forest School in Maryland.

The USPA Certified Polo Instructor Program was launched in December 2015 and currently has 22 certified instructors.  Additional information for the program can be found on the PoloSkilz website or by contacting Jess Downey.
