The Culver Military Academy Prep lacrosse team will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Midwest Lacrosse Challenge tournament this weekend. CMA (12-1) is ranked No. 1 in the Midwest and No. 3 nationally in the latest Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse polls.
This is the first year for the tournament that features teams from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri. It will be played at the the Crown Point, Ind. Sportsplex, 1313 E. North Street. All games will be Central time.
The Eagles will kick off the tournament with a 5 p.m. game against eighth seed DeSmet Jesuit on Field 1. On Field 2 at 5 p.m., fourth seed New Trier will face five seed MICDS. At approximately 7:30 p.m., No. 2 seed Loyola Academy will play seven seed Detroit Country Day on Field 1 and No. 3 Brother Rice will play No. 6 Carmel on Field 2.
Saturday, the winners of Games 1 and 2 will play at noon on Field 1. The losers of Games 2 and 4 will play on Field 2. At approximately 2:30 p.m. (35 minutes after the first games finish), the winners of Games 3 and 4 will meet on Field 1 and the losers of Games 1 and 3 will play on Field 2.
The championship game will be played at noon on Sunday on Field 1. The semifinals and championship game will be live streamed on laxsportsnetwork.com.
The games are free but there is a $10 fee for weekend parking, which is collected by the Crown Point Parks Department.
