Kevin Quan ’15 and Kevin Tai ’17 have been invited to play for the Metropolitan Polo Club’s Youth Team against the Mixed Universities Team on Sunday, July 17. Quan currently plays for the University of Connecticut polo team and Tai plays for CMA. There are just four players on the Chinese team. This is the first year Culver players have participated.

Participating collegiate teams include the University of Cambridge, the University of London, the University of Oxford, Harvard University, Cornell University, and Skidmore College. The teams play the Challenge tournament throughout the week with the championship on Sunday.

The MPC Youth Team will face players selected from the fifth and sixth place teams. Following that exhibition, the matches for third place and the championship will be played. This is the fourth year of the international tournament in Tianjin and it aims to help raise the awareness of polo among Chinese young people by inviting university polo players from nations that have a strong history of supporting polo.

Along with the visiting polo teams, representatives from top universities will also be in attendance to participate in cultural and academic exchanges with local students, parents and alumni.
