Michael Perea finishes fifth

UPDATE: The CMA golf team finished 15th at the state finals. The team shot 338 on Tuesday and 350 on Wednesday for a 688 total.

The Culver Military Academy golf team advanced to the state finals with a second place finish at the Warsaw Regional. The regional was played at the Stonehenge Golf Club Thursday. The Eagles shot a 304, only seven strokes behind Penn’s 297 and one stroke better than Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger.

Michael Perea ’19 (above) paced CMA with a 73. Starting on the back nine, Perea shot 39. He then shot shot a 2-under par 34 on front side to finish in fifth place overall. Lake Genenbacher ’18 shot a 76 (38/38), as did Joshua Bellin ’20 (40/36). Chase Frantti ’19 shot a 79 (43/36) and Arthur Davidson ’21 finished with an 84 (45/39). All five players started on Stonehenge’s back nine and each shot better on the front.

CMA, Penn and Dwenger advance to the two-day state finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel on June 12-13. The Culver Girls Academy golf team also advanced to the state finals in the fall.
