Culver Academies alumnus Brandon Chuang W’94, ’98 has been nominated for a James Beard Award for his work in Feast Magazine. A contributing writer for the St. Louis publication, Chuang was nominated March 18 for his 2012 profile of Blood & Sand chef Chris Bork.
The James Beard awards are often referred to as the “Oscars of the food world.” Chuang is among three nominees in the profile category along with New York Times Magazine’s Alex Halberstadt and GQ Magazine’s Brett Martin.
Chuang currently pens the magazine’s monthly How To column, in which he writes about his behind-the-scenes adventures in St. Louis’ food world. He also delivers sneak-peek looks at local restaurants before they open for Feast Magazine’s online news piece, The Feed.
Winners will be announced at the James Beard Foundation’s awards ceremony on Friday, May 3, in New York City.
