The Culver Girls Academy golf team captured its third consecutive sectional title Friday at the Beechwood Golf Course in LaPorte, Ind. CGA shot a team total 363, easily topping runner-up LaPorte’s 402. Third place John Glenn shot a 409 to advance in team play.

Senior Lauren Read (Bremen, Ind.) finished second overall with an 82 on the par 74 course. Junior Hannah Brumback (New Albany, Ohio) finished third with an 84, winning in a playoff against Anna Schmeltz of Glenn.

Rounding out CGA’s team scoring were freshman Amanda Kurteff (Plainfield, Ill.) with an 89 and junior Natalie Perlic (Tampa, Fla.) and senior Madison Murphy (Plainfield, Ill.) each shooting 108. The team advances to the Lafayette Regional, set for the Battle Ground Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 26.
