The Culver Girls Academy golf team captured its second straight sectional title Friday, Sept. 19, at the Beechwood Golf Course in LaPorte, Ind. CGA shot a team total of 360, easily topping runner-up John Glenn’s 389.

Junior Lauren Read (Bremen, Ind.) finished second overall with an 86 on the par 72 course. Senior Mackenzie Toth (Ann Arbor, Mich.) was third with an 88 for 18 holes. New Prairie’s Kara Blair took medalist honors with an 82.

Rounding out Culver’s team scoring were sophomore Hannah Brumback (New Albany, Ohio) with a 91, and seniors Makenna Morsches (Kansas City, Mo.) with a 95 and Olivia Hirschy (Fort Wayne, Ind.) with a 109. The team advances to the Lafayette Regional, set for the Battle Ground Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 27.
