These two student-athletes have been recognized as the first Athletes of the Month for 2018.
CGA: Autumn Baumgartner
Swimmer Autumn Baumgartner, a freshman from Argos, Indiana, broke two individual pool records – one in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.98 seconds and another in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:18.30. She was also the lead backstroke swimmer in the 200 medley relay that broke the pool record with a time of 1:56.09.
According to head coach Sarah Youvan: “Autumn is the swimmer that leads others. She mentors without even trying. She uses her experience in the sport to help others learn new techniques that help them improve. Although swimming comes natural to her, she is diligent and dedicated to the success of the entire team.”
CMA: Adam Davis
Wrestler Adam Davis, a first classman from Granger, Indiana, is captain of the CMA wrestling squad. He has amassed a 33-0 record for the season. Adam recently won his fourth sectional championship and is committed to wrestle at the United States Naval Academy next year.
According to head coach Matt Behling: “Adam is an exemplar on and off the mat. His consistent work ethic can be seen in multiple venues on campus. Adam has also served CMA as an executive officer, unit commander and regimental aide to the chaplain this year. His determination and focus in leadership, athletics, and in the classroom has served his peers quite well.”
